Before I get too far into this, I want to ask folks to consider reading about UCITA. This little gem, backed by the likes of Microsoft and other large software corporations, may threaten folks who like to make freely redistributable software. Currently, it's being considered for Maryland, and it's already gone pretty far in Virginia. Today, we have freezing rain, sleet, and a touch of snow. This has delayed, if not outright prevented me from going to work today, giving me a little time to write an update. I pretty much expected that we'd have one more hurrah before Spring reared its ugly head. My work with HTMLArchive has progressed some more. I can now create the entries that will appear in place of the <ARCHIVE> tag, and anticipate the rest may be finished over the weekend (barring any surprises). I had a minor setback when I found some bugs but couldn't debug them; for some reason the debugger I was using would crash upon loading HTMLArchive. I got around the problem by getting a new debugger. Which brings me to ddd. Folks, this debugger provides features I wish I could use at my job. It's powerful, easy to use, flexible, and an absolute joy to work with. My only complaint with it involves not having a means by which I can change the color scheme around so I don't have that strong white background wearing away my eyeballs. Otherwise, this is a fine debugger. Like most of you care <laugh>. I s'pose that's it for today. I'll make this a short entry, so I can get more work done with HTMLArchive. I hope you have a pleasant President's Day. |
