I finally have my first release of HTMLArchive done! Hurrah! Now I have to actually start using it for myself. That should be fun.

I want to drop in some more enhancements, but at the moment, I want to make what I have available for folks to use, since it's finally functional. If I'm extraordinarily lucky, some folks might even start contributing to it. To help work towards such efforts, I'm hoping to find some place that will host a CVS account for HTMLArchive. I do not, as of yet, have my own permanent connection to the internet, so I cannot provide my own hosting <sigh>.

I downloaded and have learned to run an X server on my Windows machine. I've never remotely ran any X Windows programs before; it's kind of neat to see this window on my Microsoft machine holding information about a program running on my unix machine across the room. I tried running my unix Netscape on my Microsoft Windows NT machine using an X server. Ton 'o fun. However, I found that the ddd debugger crashes the X server, so I'll have to stick to doing code work on my unix machine.

Otherwise, I really haven't done a darn thing today. I saw the snow melt, but I haven't even stepped outside. I did trim my beard after several months, mostly because Melvin found it increasingly annoying. I also watched some cartoons that Melvin bought me on DVD.. really old, classic stuff that I used to see as a kid.

Melvin has been in school most of the day, so I've been alone. I think he also went to see about some personal issues; Ms. Florene has walked off with the blinds to Melvin's/Melvin's grandmother's house. But, at least she also removed her own junk. Melvin also found some bank statements laying around... for someone who is supposed to be looking after Melvin's grandmother's financial affairs, it seems odd that Ms. Florene doesn't come by to pick up the bank statements.

What an evil woman.

Poor Melvin is still working on his 25 page paper. He has 15 pages done, and has to finish the rest before Tuesday. I don't envy him this work. It's almost as bad as doing a programming assignment. (Hey, wait a tick...)

Anyway, that's it for now. Chances are, you missed yesterday's entry.
