It seems like forever. I still do not have my environment quite the way I'd like it. All my .wml files are still lost (and needing to be reconstructed), but I managed to fix a bug in HTMLArchive that prevented me from being able to create archive entries. Now, if I can figure out why sitecopy no longer works for me... I'll have to post the fix to HTMLArchive. My job has slowed my progress at home down considerably. I don't spend much time at home, instead working on stuff at the job. Hopefully, things will start to relax soon, but it's really wearing me down. I recently bought myself a new monitor. It's great! A nice, large, 18" (viewable) monitor capable of handling very high resolutions at 75 Mhz. I no longer feel like the flickering of my old monitor will drive me insane anymore. I also bought a DVD-ROM drive for my other system (the WinNT one), but I lack a driver for the DVD parts, so I cannot watch DVD movies on it yet. Perhaps later. The new Linux operating system I've installed is extremely nice. I can finally handle a lot of things that the older Linux system didn't seem to deal with as well. In particular, the newer Mozilla browser has been running quite nicely; I eagerly anticipate the day it becomes released as finished. I've also moved away from KDE in favor of Gnome/Enlightenment. What a pretty environment! And it's optionally noisy, too! I still had to tweak things to get sound to work on the system. One of these days, I should consider the merits of removing my ISA SoundBlaster card for a PCI SoundBlaster card. It would save me much trouble in setup problems. Occasionally, when I'm online, I set up a private webcam that I can let folks see... eventually, when I manage to get DSL installed, I'll probably have it up on a more-or-less permanent basis. And... that's about enough for this installment. Hopefully, I'll be a little more regular now that I have HTMLArchive working again. |
