Dad's experiencing kidney problems due to side effects from the antibiotics used to fight the staff infection. A specialist has been consulted, who took dad off all the antibiotics except the last one they've been using (the ugly one they started a couple of days ago). If his nutrition does start to improve, they'll have to start feeding him intravenously. If intravenous feeding doesn't help him, he'll have to get a tube to his stomach (something we're hoping to avoid). If his kidneys continue to give him hell, he may have to go on a machine (but we're nowhere near that point).

On the positive side, all of his cell counts have been improving markedly. His white cell count has better than doubled (it was .3 yesterday).
