Again, I apologize for the extreme delay, but this is the first time since he went to the hospital that the three of us have had a chance to spend some time together. As such, we spent quite a bit of it together, and, well, it has taken me a while to get back home to type up this page.

Dad's body is somewhat swollen from the toxins his kidneys aren't filtering out. He started dialyses today at about 8am and finished up after a couple of hours. I don't have exact figures for his blood count, but they continue to improve. In fact, at this point, all of his blood counts are within normal ranges, so I'm not going to post them anymore (unless something changes to indicate an abnormality).

The only concern we have at this point is his blood's toxicity, which is going down, but it's still kind of high. His kidneys are working, but they're working poorly. Still, today he was considerably better than yesterday. We are expecting (unofficially, of course) for him to be almost ready to be released in a week (this is after a couple of days observation).

He was very lucid today, even cracking quite a few jokes (some of them bawdy). Still, he's quite weak, so visits are still being discouraged. However, we anticipate that he'll be ready to greet people in a couple of days.

If you've tried to contact him today, but couldn't get through, understand that we pulled the phone off-line.. he truly needs his rest. You may compare today's against yesterday's results.
