Tomorrow, they intend to remove something in his chest. No, not his heart, but something left behind when they took the catheter out of his chest (the one that started the staff infection). It should happen sometime in the morning, but we don't know exactly when they plan to do this. We think after this minor operation, they'll observe him for a day and then he can return home.
He's continuing to get stronger each day. Walking around, while somewhat difficult, is considerably less a chore than before. His voice almost sounded with its normal vim and vigor. And his spirits soar. He's well on the road to recovery.
If you've tried to contact Dad today, but couldn't get through, understand that we pulled the phone off-line.. the more rest he gets, the faster he gets out of the hospital... and he's tired of being in the hospital. Thank you all for your patience, restraint, and support through all of this. I don't doubt we'll probably have some kind of party when he's better able to handle it. You may compare today's against yesterday's results.
